Chief Minister discusses bilateral relations and trade prospects with Dutch Ambassador
In a significant meeting, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif engaged in talks with Henny de Vries, the Ambassador of Holland in Pakistan. The dialogue primarily focused on matters of mutual interest, aiming to bolster bilateral relations between the Netherlands and Punjab.
During the session, Ambassador de Vries extended congratulations to CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif for her historic election as the first woman Chief Minister. Together, they delved into discussions regarding the augmentation of trade relations and the promotion of investment prospects between the two regions.
Emphasizing the potential synergy between Dutch expertise and Punjab’s economic landscape, CM Maryam invited Dutch companies and investors to explore the abundant business opportunities within the province. “We seek to harness the Netherlands’ advancements in agriculture and technology. Collaboration in agricultural practices, irrigation techniques, and agricultural machinery holds immense promise for enhancing Punjab’s agricultural output,” remarked CM Maryam.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister underscored the importance of leveraging Dutch technological know-how to address critical issues such as water management, flood mitigation, and water quality enhancement. The agenda also includes initiatives for fostering academic exchange through student delegations and establishing joint research programs.
Additionally, Punjab aims to tap into Dutch expertise to propel the growth of its renewable energy sector, thereby reducing reliance on fossil fuels. The collaborative efforts envisioned between Punjab and the Netherlands signify a concerted stride towards sustainable development and economic prosperity for both entities.
