HBL posted a profit-after-tax of Rs14.01 billion for the April-June 2024 quarter, reflecting a 7% growth compared to Rs13.08 billion in the same period last year, as per consolidated results shared with the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Monday.
The bank’s earnings per share (EPS) rose to Rs9.81 for the quarter, up from Rs8.86 in the previous year. For the January-June 2024 period, HBL’s profit-after-tax reached Rs29.06 billion, surpassing the Rs26.34 billion recorded in the first half of 2023.
HBL also declared a Rs4 per share dividend for the second quarter, matching the dividend paid earlier for the January-March period. According to Topline Securities, both the earnings and dividend were in line with expectations.
