Gold prices in Pakistan continued their upward trend on Thursday, reaching a new record high, even as international rates fell. The price of gold per tola rose by Rs800, bringing it to Rs261,800 in the local market.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 10-gram gold increased by Rs686, settling at Rs224,451.
On the previous day, gold prices stood at Rs261,000 after a gain of Rs300.
Contrary to the local market, international gold prices dropped on Thursday, with the rate per ounce falling by $8 to $2,504 (including a $20 premium), according to APGJSA.
Meanwhile, silver prices in the local market remained steady at Rs2,950 per tola.
