After an increase in the previous session, gold prices in Pakistan dropped on Saturday, mirroring a decline in international rates. The price per tola of gold in the local market fell by Rs500, settling at Rs256,800.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 10-gram gold also decreased by Rs429, bringing it to Rs220,165.
On Friday, the price of gold per tola had surged by Rs2,400, reaching a record high of Rs257,300.
Internationally, gold prices also declined on Saturday, with the APGJSA noting that the global rate was $2,443 per ounce (including a $20 premium) after losing $15 during the day.
Meanwhile, silver rates in the local market remained stable at Rs2,900 per tola.
