Citi Pharma Limited (CPHL), a Pakistani pharmaceutical company, has announced plans to build a new healthcare facility in Lahore, which will include a 200-bed hospital and a medical teaching university. This development is part of CPHL’s strategy for vertical diversification, aiming to address the shortage of quality healthcare services in Lahore, a city with an estimated population of 13.4 million, according to the World Population Review.
The company revealed these plans in its annual report to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), highlighting that it has secured a 12-Kanal plot on Pine Avenue, opposite DHA Lahore, for this project. The new hospital aims to meet the needs of Lahore’s densely populated areas with advanced healthcare services.
Rizwan Ahmad, CEO of CPHL, emphasized that these projects align with the company’s vision to expand its business footprint and contribute to Pakistan’s healthcare and education sectors by fostering innovation and training future medical professionals.
In addition to the hospital, CPHL recently began exporting nutraceuticals to the United States, expecting to generate about $3 million annually from this venture with profit margins ranging from 25% to 30%. The company also formed a strategic partnership with India’s Murli Krishna Pharma Private Ltd (MKPL) earlier this year to enhance its product offerings in Pakistan.
