Attock Petroleum to Expand EV Charging Network Across Pakistan

Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) announced plans to expand its electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across Pakistan, emphasizing that this initiative will contribute to the fight against climate change and support green business practices by reducing the carbon footprint.

In its annual report to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), APL shared that it has already installed three 180KW fast EV charging systems at key locations and is planning a nationwide expansion to promote the adoption of EVs. This move is expected to play a crucial role in the shift towards sustainable transportation by improving air quality and mitigating climate change.

Additionally, APL revealed it is actively working on expanding its DC fast EV charging network to motorway service areas. Successful installations include EV-charger facilities at Islamabad Club, Garrison Filling Station, and an upgraded facility at Hassan Petroleum, Blue Area, Islamabad.

Apart from the EV charging network, APL is also planning to switch its COCO retail outlets and bulk oil terminals to an On-Grid Solar System and is setting up an LPG storage and filling plant in Rawalpindi, with a capacity of 203 M. tons and a daily filling capacity of 50 M. tons.

The government has also prioritized the development of EV infrastructure, with plans to establish recharge stations along motorways and key highways. EVs are seen as a growing sector in Pakistan, with significant potential to transform the country’s automotive industry.
