The Organic Meat Company Limited (TOMCL) has announced a significant $12 million contract with China for the supply of frozen cooked beef. The company, which specializes in processing, selling, and exporting halal meat and related products, disclosed this development in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday.
According to the notice, TOMCL has successfully secured this contract, marking a key milestone in its operations and expanding its presence in the rapidly growing Chinese market for frozen cooked beef products. The agreement involves the delivery of high-quality frozen cooked beef over a specified period, with shipments set to commence shortly.
This partnership is part of TOMCL’s strategy to enhance its export operations and explore new markets, particularly in Asia. The company anticipates that this contract will positively impact its revenue and profitability for the fiscal year 2025.
Earlier this month, TOMCL completed the second phase of its operational expansion to meet the increasing demand from China, adding a production capacity of 300 metric tons (MT) per month for frozen cooked beef. Earlier this year, TOMCL became the first South Asian company to successfully export heat-treated frozen beef products to China, following approval from Chinese customs authorities in 2021.
In addition to China, TOMCL also serves major export markets in the Middle East, the Far East, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and South Asia.
